Whats up everyone! I am so excited and energized after coming back from the Harbor Institute Roadtrip conference for Black Greek Letter Organizations. Beyond This Place is coming ya’ll and I can’t wait for you to share in the excitement thats already running through my system. More photos, clips and video will be coming soon. So, I my 29th birthday came and went while I was working in Atlanta and I got a bit emotional earlier in the day talking to my folks and eventually to the lunch crowd of students at the conference.
I’m so thankful for another rotation around the sun! Thank you everyone for your calls, text messages, love and appreciation. I’ve never been a huge birthday person but I’m always grateful for the time and opportunity to reflect. Now, I’ll ask for my gift. I’m launching the @BeyondThisPlace fundraising campaign next month and need your support.
Once we reach the 100 person goal, Thunderclap will send out the message automatically on October 3, at 11AM eastern time, pushing the Beyond This Place message across the internet! Getting the message out will be half the battle. I feel so encouraged after spending this weekend with neos, peers, mentors and community leaders who share my enthusiasm for this type of documentation of our culture.
